1) Decide how you collect before you buy
Most new collectors lose money by buying at random. Pick a lane. You might follow one world like GISMOW or TARTI, collect by material and look, or chase specific characters only. Whatever you pick decides what you spend on and what you walk past.
2) A budget and a rhythm beat luck
Set a monthly cap and split it: most of it on new drops, a smaller slice for the odd secondary-market pickup, and a little left to try something new. It keeps the collection coherent and takes the edge off panic-buying.

5) Judging a brand in 2026
Look at whether the story stays consistent, whether the finish quality holds, how openly it announces releases, how wildly resale prices swing, and whether the community sticks around. Brands with a steady story and disciplined releases tend to outlast short bursts of hype.
